Parts of Medicare: The Basics
Medicare is made up of two primary parts, Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B. You will need both Parts in order to have a Medicare Supplement or Medicare Advantage plan in place. For most folks, Part A is free but Part B comes with a premium. The premium for Part B is in addition to the premium you pay for your supplemental plan (if you have one).
