Although Medicare Supplement (Medigap) insurance can help you lower your out-of-pocket Medicare Part A and B costs, finding the right plan – and the best insurance carrier for your specific needs – can be somewhat confusing. One Medigap insurance carrier that has a good reputation, and that is financially stable, is Anthem.
At Bluewave Insurance we are proud to offer our clients Anthem Medicare supplement plans. To sign up or learn more, contact us at 800-208-4974.

- Medicare Part A coinsurance and hospital expenses – up to an additional 365 days after your Medicare benefits have been used up
- Medicare Part B coinsurance or copayment
- The first 3 pints of bloo d each year
- Medicare Part A hospice care copayment or coinsurance
- Skilled nursing facility care coinsurance
- Medicare Part A deductible
- Medicare Part B deductible
- Medicare Part B excess charge
- Foreign travel exchange (80%) – up to the plan limit
There are some changes that will take place as of January 1 st , 2020, with regard to Medicare Supplement Plan F. Starting then, Medicare enrollees will no longer be able to purchase new Medicare Supplement Plan F coverage. (However, if you are already covered through Medigap Plan F, you may still retain your coverage).
Anthem Medigap Plan G
With the Medicare Supplement Plan G from Anthem, you can also obtain a long list of benefits. In fact, other than not covering the Medicare Part B deductible amount, Medigap Plans G and F provide the same comprehensive coverage options.
In 2025, the Medicare Part B annual deductible is $257. Once this deductible has been satisfied, your Part B benefits will begin to payout. So, it can be well worth it for you to compare the added premium cost of Medigap Plan F with the additional amount of benefit you may receive– and in many cases, Medicare Supplement Plan G comes out to be the better alternative.

Anthem Supplemental Insurance Plan N
Another Medigap option that offers a wide range of benefits is Plan N. With the Medicare Supplement Plan N through Anthem, your coverage will include the same benefits that are in Plan F, other than the Medicare Part B deductible, and the Medicare Part B excess charge.
The Part B excess charges refer to the cost that a doctor may add to your bill that are above and beyond what the Medicare-approved amount for a certain service or procedure is.
There are a couple of other items to note if you choose to go with Medicare Supplement Plan
N. These include a copayment requirement of up to $20 for Medicare Part B coinsurance for some doctors’ office visits, as well as a copayment of up to $50 for emergency room visits that do not result in you being admitted to the hospital as an inpatient.
If your emergency room visit does end up resulting in admission to the hospital, your ER copayment will be waived.
Anthem Medicare Advantage Plans
In addition to Medicare Supplement insurance, Anthem also offers Medicare Advantage plans. Commonly referred to as Medicare Part C, Medicare Advantage plans include all of the benefits you would get through Medicare Part A and B for hospital and medical expenses.
In addition, many Medicare Advantage plans will also provide Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage, and / or coverage for dental, hearing, and vision.
If you choose to purchase an Anthem Medicare Advantage plan, it is important that you compare the coverage and premium prices before moving forward. That is because unlike Medicare Supplement plans – which are required by law to offer the same benefit options in plans of the same letter – the coverage can differ from one Medicare Advantage plan to another.
At Bluewave Insurance, we offer Medicare Advantage plans from Anthem, and we can provide you with quotes, as well as additional information about the Medicare Part C plans that are available in your area.
