Mutual of Omaha Burial Insurance and Final Expense Coverage
Mutual of Omaha has a couple of burial insurance options that will help insurers avoid out-of-pocket funeral costs. The first one is the Living Promise, which death benefit given to the appointed beneficiary. The second is the Mutual of Omaha whole life insurance policy which is a guaranteed issue policy life insurance.
If you opt into Mutual of Omaha guaranteed acceptance or guaranteed issue plan, that means that you are automatically accepted into their burial insurance coverage. However, the biggest drawback is that there is a two year waiting period in order to get full benefits. If for some reason you die before the time period is up, you will only get what you paid for in monthly premiums plus 10% of interest. Folks are eligible for Mutual of Omaha burial insurance plans in the age range of 45-85. Depending on the plan you sign up for, they may require you to answer health questions or take a medical exam. If you take the answer health questions, and you are fit for the Living Promise burial insurance plan then you will get coverage right away. However, with Guaranteed whole life insurance there is a mandatory two-year wait period before you get your full death benefits.
Mutual of Omaha Living Promise Insurance Plans
With Mutual of Omaha, you must answer health questions in order to identify if you qualify for the plan. If you are eligible for this plan and answer the questions to their satisfaction you ill have full coverage on the first day. The advantage of having health questions is that there is no mandatory waiting period.
Here are some of the things you must share with Mutual of Omaha in order to qualify for the Living Promise burial insurance policy:

Mutual of Omaha Guaranteed Whole Life Insurance Plans
Because Mutual Omaha requires health questions for their Living Promise plan, that may result in folks being denied burial insurance because they may have serious health issues like a terminal illness, HIV, Alzheimer’s, heart disease, etc. In order to mitigate that problem and make sure that everyone has access to burial insurance, Mutual of Omaha created a Guaranteed Whole Life Insurance plan.
With the guaranteed whole life insurance plan, folks age 45-85 can buy $2,000- to $25,000 worth of burial coverage. Depending on your needs, this plan is flexible and can change depending on how you evolve over the years. This plan will also never expire as long as premiums are paid per month. In addition, the death benefit will never decrease no matter what your age is or how your health condition is.
However, the biggest drawback is probably that there is a mandatory two-year waiting period. Meaning, policyholders only get full benefits after two years. If you die before the two years because of natural causes then it would be a refund of all your monthly premiums plus 10% interest.
Another disadvantage is that this is a more expensive plan since United of Omaha doesn’t ask health questions, it means they are more at risk to lose money. In that case, they will require you to pay more for burial insurance per month.
